“Black and white photography is a distortion. We don’t see the world in black and white. If it hadn’t been the only option in photography for so long I doubt it would have caught on and be so universally accepted today. There is something very pure about black and white photography which is quite handy because but nothing is quite as effective at removing complexity in the subject as shooting in monochrome.” Damien Lovegrove

“When I feel under pressure on a shoot or lack creative vision I switch my camera to black and white. It makes me feel like an artist. Colour is usually annoying in photographs unless it is taken under control.” Damien Lovegrove
